This week I made a BoxTar witch is a guitar/box. How I made it was I got a box and put paper all on it so It would look good then I made some holes and tide elastic on it. I made some of them tighter then the others so they would make different noises. I came up with the name BoxTar because Box and a guitar when they are shortened it is Box and Tar and together it is BoxTar. It took a long time but at least it sounds good at the end result.

Nature Name

This week for Whetu photo comp we had to make our name out of nature. I used Sticks, Rocks, and Leaves. I had to keep making my name because it kept flying away. So I had to put rocks on the M to not make it fly away but the Y was pretty good at not flying away.I was going to make my name just out of rocks but then I thought about how I need to make it a Supernova so I looked around in the garden and found some things I could use. My favourite letter is the E because the rest of the letters are a little bit messy.

Maths Escape Room Week 6

This week for the maths escape room I mange to do it in under 30 mins. I got a little bit of help with question 11. I had to do it several times but the first time I did it I got YUKA DES FISSY and I knew that was wrong but dad said that it might be in Japaneses so I search on google YUKA DES FISSY and it came up with sorry it looks like there are not many matches for your search so I knew I got It wrong so I did it again. In the end I got Your Key Fits because I realise that the numbers on the questions were where you had to put the letter.

NOTD Week 6 Friyay

This is my Number Of The Day for Friyay. I did it in my mums notebook and I am positive that I got everything right. The doubling was the hardest but how I did the doubling one was I went 3000+3000=6000 200+200=400 40+40=80 4+4=8 6000+400=6400 80+8=88 6400+88=6488. My favourite thing to do was 4. because it was fun to put different rings on the poles.

Recipe Of The Week, Week 6

This week for recipe of the week we had to make chocolate chip cookies. We did not have normal chocolate chips so we had to use white chocolate chips instead which tasted even yummier. I accidentally put too much sugar and too much chocolate chips so we had to triple the recipe so we had 90 cookies. We didn't quite exactly have 90 cookies but we had around 60 cookies but that's only because I made one huge cookie which I still haven't eaten yet. Mum had to put a ice cream container full of them in the freezer because we couldn't keep them in our pantry. We had to use 5 trays and when mum took one out of the oven it burnt her.

Chapter Chat Week 7

This week I did digital design. I made a evil perfume and if you spray it on you or someone else it will poison you or it will make you get controlled by the first person you see. It is called Eviler because it is an evil perfume. In the perfume is  blood, sweat, poison, and a potion  that will make whoever gets sprayed controlled by whoever they see first. My perfume only works once and the rest of the time if you get sprayed you will turn into a zombie.

Play,Make,Create Week 6

This week I decided to do Play,Make,Create on my computer because I did not have the supplies to make it. I did Make witch was to make something that a gardener would find helpful. I designed a Wheel Mower. I could not think of anything to make so I thought that maybe I should connect two things together. How the Wheel Mower works is that when you mow your lawn the grass will go in the wheel barrow and it is easier to empty. How I made it was first I searched up some things that gardeners use then I got a picture of a wheel barrow and a picture of a Lawn Mower then  I used poly line to trace it and then I coloured it.

Play,Make,Create Week 9

This week for Play,Make,Create we had to make something based on the book We Are All EQUAL. I made something based on the task Design which was to create something that can transport a snake so I made this card box that has wheels, a charger, a remote, and a TV controller. My favourite bit of my creation is the remote because it is so cute and it took the longest to make. The hardest thing that I made was probable the remote. I worked by myself because I knew from my past that when I work with other people I do not get my work done because I talk a lot.

Play,Make,Create Week 8 2021

This week for Play,Make,Create I made a treasure chest with a Gold/yellow chain, 2 Gold Bars, 2 $100 bills, coins, and a task sheet. I feel like I worked better by myself because I got my work done faster and I did not have anyone to argue with because I worked by myself and I did not talk to anyone. I really enjoyed making it.

Whetu Challenge 18th,06,21

This week for Whetu Challenge we had to make a tall tower but you could only use news paper and tape. We did the same thing last week but we weren't very good so the teachers said that we are going to do it again. We had 1 hour to make our tower as tall as we could. It also had to be freestanding. I worked with Levi, Maia, and Melena. We made our tower 141 cm tall, and the tallest tower was 297 cm so we were 156 cm shorter than that one. We had a bit of an incident because the tower touched the roof and we would be disqualified if it touched the roof so we had to move it but then it fell so we had to fix it and make it stand up by itself so then we went to morning tea and when we came back someone had been in the room and pushed most of the towers over so our one was really small and we did not get any more time to fix it.

Play,Make,Create Week 4

This week for play,make,create I worked with Shylah-faye. We made a board game for the task design, how we made it was we first got some cardboard then we got coloured paper and cut them we then folded the paper stuck it onto the game and then wrote some things under the paper made characters and a Jail then we were done. I had heaps of fun because I have never worked with her and I think we make a good pair because we got a lot done and we did not muck around and talk.For our characters we made 2 Squirrels 1 waterfall 1 acorn and 1 pine cone.

Play,Make,Create Week 4

 This week for Play,Make,Create we had to base our creation on the book called Theodore The Unsure.I worked with Levi and we made a T-shirt. How we made our T-shirt was we first got a big piece of paper and we traced my jumper and then we PVA some wool on the T-shirt and then made a pocket and tag glued them and and then we were done.

Play,Make,Create Week 2

This week for play,make,create we read the book Be You and it is about always being you and not minding if you do something different to your friend. 

What I would change is probably the ground because sometimes the ball gets stuck in the cracks because we used different pieces of paper and the ball is so small that it always gets stuck.

I worked with Chrysler because I never work with her and we both wanted to make a hockey field/game.

What we used to make our creation was Cardboard, sticks,hot glue, paper, tape,and sharpies.

How a Hockey field fet into the book Be You was because we made something we love and it was what we had to make for the task Make.

The most challenging part was definitely goals because It kept on falling down and we had to put it up over and over again and when it did stand up we had to hold it in the same place for about 5 minutes.

Overall I am very happy with how our creation turned out because we can now play hockey with out having to run around and when it is raining we get to play hockey inside.

NumBots & TTRockstars

 Term 2, Week 1 2021

During Term 1 we have been practising our addition and subtraction knowledge through the online programme called NumBots.  At the start it was super easy but progressively got more challenging.

I am now on Level 1 Silver NumBots.  

I enjoy NumBots because I get to learn all types of different math and I like how when you move up different levels you get a different robot body.

What I find challenging is when we have to fill in the missing number like if it says 196-?= 96 and then you have to fill in the answer and I always take such a long time to answer it so I always get one star and have to do the level again.

This week we have started TTRockstars.  This is an online programme which helps us to learn our timetables. First we had to complete 10 Studio games which were really hard because they had basic facts right up to 12 x 12. Now that hard part is over we can play in the Garage and start learning our tables.

I think that TTRockstars is challenging but fun at the same time. Why it is challenging is because you have to play studio to move up to the next level. Why it is fun is because we always do battles witch is when the teachers set a battle up and you play and play TTRockstars and try to get heaps of questions right and then at the end of the battle you see who wins like if it is the boys vs girls then I would be trying to make the girls win.

Play,Make,Create Week 1 Term 2

 This week for Play,Make,Create we were making something that is related to the book Up The Creek by Nicholas Oldland. I worked with OJ because most of the time I work by myself so I thought I should change it up and work with someone. We decided to make on of those olden day cup phones for a new why that the Moose, Bear, and Beaver can communicate.What we first did was we drew our plan out and then we got some cardboard, X2 Cups, and some string, we then got the cardboard and drew a walkie talkie on it, then we go two cups and hot glues the walkie talkies onto it, next we made holes on the bottom of the cup and put the string through the cup, we then tied heaps of knots in the string so that it would stay in the cup,finally we decorated the cup and then it was ready to go and it actually works. I am very proud of how our work turned out because I did not think that it would work and it was supposed to just be a display thing but in reality it worked and we can talk to up to 11 Emily Feet.

Play, Make, Create Week 11

This week for Play, Make, Create we were making something based on the book  My Many Coloured Days. I made a feelings monitor and you spin it around and then what ever it lands on that is the feeling that you feel. When I first saw what the tasks were I was thinking I should make something that changes colour so I was going to make something that you can hold and you put your pencil through it and then you can write or draw something. I also have a little piece of square cardboard and you put it on the end of you pencil so it does not fall down when you write. The hardest part was making the arrow spin so that you could find out what feeling you are feeling. My favourite part was seeing the finish product because I did not think my work would turn out how it looks now.

Whetu Fun Day Week 10

 Last Thursday we had a Whetu Fun Day as our camp was postponed.  Our teachers planned a fun day for us instead!  We participated in a Whetu Amazing Race, a range of different fun rotations, a BBQ lunch and play on the council playground then we finished the day with an Easter Egg hunt and an ice block.

My favourite part of the Amazing Race was when we were running to the 15th house on Paul Dr and Nicole our parent helper made a snap chat because she said funny things like " I am doing an amazing race and I am soo hot I am even in Jandels" It was so funny. In my team was Chrysler, Maia, Jasmine, Shylah-Faye, Pippa, Brianna, Nicole, and I. We got soo hot that when we were at the 4 square Nicole bought us some water to cool us off.

The rotation I enjoyed the most was the Stem challenge because my group go to make an Easter bunny costume and I was the model. I looked so funny and my group came up with an idea that we should us my hat to put the bunny ears on because the ears would not stay on my head. In my group was Chrysler, Maia, Shylah-Faye, and I.

During the Easter Egg Hunt I found my stick in one of the small trees and it is attached to a stick by some black elastic and my stick was stuffed in that. I also helped Shylah-Faye because I found one and she was having trouble, I thought that if my stick was stuffed in one of the trees that maybe there would be another one in a different tree so we looked at all the small trees and we found one in the tree that was 2 trees away then we walked back to the event centre deck and we traded the stick for an Easter egg and a ice block.

I had such a fun time and I am so great full to have such wonderful teachers like the one's I have.

Play, Make, Create week 9

 This week for play make create I worked with Maia. This week we did not have a book to base our creation on we had the word Camp. Maia and I made a mini camp ground. We have one tent, fire pit, three camp chairs, sleeping bag, pillow and a toilet. We also made mini people but they where of us and Maia's went missing so I am the only person in the mini camp ground. We used a box, paper and hot glue gun.

Maths Mystery week 9

 This week for the maths mystery we were doing a mystery about the missing Athletics trophy. I worked with Imogen. We had to do the mystery 3 times because the first two times we got the first question wrong because we did the arrows the wrong way. We found the first question the hardest because we have not learned the > and < signs yet so we did not know what why it went. Our answer was Mollie because she is a female she is in year 3 she is in them blue she has a metal bottle and her shoe size is size 9.

Play,Make,Create Week 8

 This week for play make create I made a Guitar because we read Giraffes Can't Dance. I made a guitar because one of the tasks was to make something that made music and guitars make music. I think my work is a supernova because I could have just drawn a guitar but I made it and it works and makes music.

Week 5, Term 1, 2021

 Monday was our school Swimming Sports. On the day I raced in 8 different races. I came 2nd in freestyle 1 length, 1st in butterfly 1 length, 1st in backstroke 1 length, 2nd in backstroke 2 lengths, 1st in breaststroke 1 length, 1st in breaststroke 2 lengths, 3rd in the Individual medley, and 2nd in the freestyle relay.

We had two art sessions this week and on the first day in Mrs Kennedy's art group we finished off our draft and then Mrs Kennedy drew us some circles and we started drawing our landscape. On the second day we got a circle with a mountain and a sky and we had to draw some scallops and then we painted them with different shades of green.

In reading this week we have been introduced to the book detectives witch is where we predict what is going to happen next and write things about the book that we are reading. We are reading a book called the finger and we are split into groups. My group is called the Magic finger blue. We also have a doc called our W.O.W doc with stands for world of words and when we have finished wheat the teacher told us to do we can go on our W.O.W doc and write a story our a poem.

Part of our maths programme is NumBots and I think I am going pretty good because I am on Aluminium witch is the 10th level of NumBots and the questions are getting harder but there are less questions on the levels.

Week 4 Term 1 Reflection

 Week 4, Term 1, 2021

The most interesting/fun thing we have done during class time this week is doing the rotation 1 because I like doing poems with Miss Mac 2 because I like math with Mrs Kennedy and 3 because I like working with words and writing with Mrs Loft and Mrs Heaven.

We started our art this week and I have chosen to do art with Mrs Kennedy because I like doing landscape and working with different colours. Our art is going to be a circle with a landscape in the circle, There are going to be different designs and different shades of the colour.

We created our Whetū stars on Thursday and they look Amazing. My mum came in to help me with my star witch I am very happy with because my mum and dad are never able to come to my events  but on Thursday my mums colleague was able to take over my mums class. I have heaps of photos on one side witch was when I was a baby and when I was young and on the other side is more of the photos from when I was older.

Next week we have our school swimming sports, I am feeling nervous and scared because I don't want to Muck up and make me look like a fool. But I am also feeling exited because I will be winning house points for Patiki. I am going to do the 1 length freestyle, 1 length breaststroke, 1 length backstroke, 2 lengths breaststroke, and the IM Individual medley 1 length butterfly 1 length backstroke 1 length breaststroke and 1 length freestyle.

Start Of The Year Reflection

 Week 3, Term 1, 2021

Someone who has helped me with my learning this year is the teachers on Tuesday helped me because I was away and did not know what to do.

The most interesting/fun thing we have done during class time is making our tote tray labels and our art book cover because I like to draw and to colour in.

The most fun thing that I have done at a play or lunch time this year is playing crocodile with Maia, Chrysler, Jasmine, Brianna, Tayla, Shirley, Haven, and Scarlett.

One word that describes learning in Whetu is Phenomenal.

Something I am looking forward to is going on camp in week 9 with all my friends and having some time away from my family.
